Since opening in 1998, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre has emerged as one of the premier comedy venues in the country. The UCB Theatre is technically an alternative hotspot, but actually programs more comedy and draws bigger crowds than mainstream clubs. UCB performers and alumni have infiltrated every facet of the country’s comedy scene. From TV shows like Saturday Night Live, MadTV, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central’s Daily Show with Jon Stewart, MTV’s Boiling Points, VH1’s Best Week Ever and A-Z, to films such as Road Trip, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, Elf and Anchorman to countless national commercials, you’ve seen UCB performers.

WORKSHOP

There will be a valuable workshop on Saturday 9/10/2005 from 1-4PM, presented by The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company. This workshop will combine the following aspects:

Scenework intensive
Advanced study of scenework, fundamentals and dynamics focusing on building scenes brick by brick with your scene partner.

Initiations
"Free Your Mind and Be in the Moment" - Learn to create exciting scenes instantly thought strong choices, commitment, and bold moves.

Character Intensive
The best, most believable characters come from a place of truth inside you -- the trick is finding that place. This workshop will present various techniques for mastering the tools you already possess to create original, believable characters instantly.
